Chronicles of the New Testament Part IV - The Ministry of Jesus Christ

2025 December

2025 December

The Four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—tell the unified yet distinct story of the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah and Son of God. Each writer, inspired by the Holy Spirit, offers a unique perspective that together paints a complete picture of who Jesus is and what He came to accomplish. Matthew, writing primarily to a Jewish audience, presents Jesus as the long-awaited King, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, tracing His lineage to Abraham and David. Mark, concise and action-driven, reveals Jesus as the obedient Servant of God, whose miracles and sacrifice demonstrate divine authority and compassion. Luke, the careful historian and physician, portrays Jesus as the perfect Son of Man—full of mercy, reaching out to the poor, the lost, and the broken. And John, the beloved disciple, lifts the narrative to heavenly heights, unveiling Jesus as the eternal Word made flesh, the very presence of God among men.

Together, the Gospels form the heart of the New Testament, revealing the life that changed all of history. Through their combined testimony, we see Jesus’ miraculous birth, His baptism and temptation, His teachings and parables, His compassion for sinners, and His ultimate sacrifice on the cross. Yet death could not hold Him—each Gospel climaxes in the resurrection, the triumph that confirms His divinity and ushers in salvation for all who believe. More than biographies, the Gospels are living witnesses of God’s love, calling every generation to follow Christ, to know Him personally, and to carry forward the good news that began in Galilee and now reaches to the ends of the earth.
